can we just take a moment to appreciate what an amazing character natsume is? he’s probably the strongest anime character I know, but not in the way male characters usually are. he’s actually kind of “effeminate” in a lot of ways: he’s polite, soft-spoken, a pretty boy, and aside from having a mean punch, he’s not physically tough.

natsume is strong in a different way. he always tries his hardest to protect others, even if it means putting himself in harm’s way. he cherishes all the little things in life that bring him joy, even though (or maybe because) most of his life has been sad and lonely. he’s still so willing to love and place his trust in others, even though his relatives abused him for most of his childhood. it’s amazing that natsume is so kind and caring even though, until recently, life has given him little reason to be good to others.
